Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about the Patas Event

About the Event

What is the Patas Event?
Patas is a furry culture convention held in Sorocaba, SP, Brazil. Over an entire weekend, it brings together furries, fursuiters, artists, supporters, and the curious for activities, panels, socializing, and lots of anthropomorphic art. It's the kind of event where you arrive knowing nobody and leave with a list of new friends.
When and where does it take place?
Patas 2026 takes place from December 11 to 13, 2026 at Sorocaba Park Hotel by Atlantica, located at Rua Prof. Joaquim Silva, 205, Alto da Boa Vista, Sorocaba, SP, Brazil.
Do I need to be a furry to participate?
No. The event is open to anyone curious about or sympathetic to the community. You don't need a fursuit, a created character, or any prior involvement with furry culture. Just buy a ticket and show up.

Tickets

How do I buy my ticket?
Exclusively through the event's official website. We do not sell tickets through WhatsApp groups, resellers, or any other channel. If someone offers a ticket outside the official site, be suspicious.
Does the ticket include accommodation or meals?
No. The ticket grants access to event areas and activities over the three days. Accommodation and meals are each attendee's responsibility. More details are in the "Accommodation" section below.
Can I transfer my ticket to someone else?
No. Tickets are registered and linked to the purchaser's CPF (Brazilian tax ID). They cannot be transferred, sold, or given to third parties.
I regret my purchase. Can I cancel?
Yes, within the first 7 days after purchase you can request cancellation with a full refund, in accordance with the Brazilian Consumer Protection Code. After that period, there is no cash refund, but you can transfer the ticket to the next edition of Patas by requesting at least 30 days before the event. See the Terms & Conditions for more details.
Are there half-price or discounted tickets?
Yes, in two ways. Half-price tickets are guaranteed by Brazilian law (Law No. 12.933/2013) for students with valid student ID, seniors over 60, people with disabilities, and youth enrolled in CadÚnico. Documentation must be presented at the time of purchase and again at event entry.

Additionally, Patas offers the social entry, a discounted ticket for those who contribute a non-perishable item at check-in. Details about accepted items and discount amounts are available on the tickets page.
Can minors participate?
Yes, as long as they are accompanied by a guardian over 18 years old. This must be declared at the time of ticket purchase. The guardian can be a parent, legal tutor, or another adult authorized by the parents with a written document with notarized signature. Some event areas and activities are exclusive to those 18 and older.

Accommodation

Do I need to stay at the event hotel?
No, staying at Sorocaba Park Hotel is not mandatory. You can stay at any other hotel in the city, an Airbnb, or even at someone's house in Sorocaba. What you can't do is sleep in the event area.
But is there any advantage to staying at the event hotel?
Absolutely. Being in the same place where the event happens means living Patas from early morning until late at night, meeting attendees at breakfast, in the elevator, and at the pool. It's a very different experience from those who come and go every day.
How do I book a room at Sorocaba Park Hotel?
Go to the website menu under About > Location, where you'll find the booking link with an exclusive discount for Patas attendees. December is a high-demand period, so don't wait until the last minute. The hotel has double, triple, and quadruple room options, making it easy to split costs with other attendees.
Is there a group for finding people to share a room?
Keep an eye on our official channels. We usually create specific spaces for this closer to the event date.
